鎬造り庵棟、身幅細く重尋常、反り鳥居反りが深く中鋒。茎は生で鑢目筋違い、茎尻は栗尻。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌が流れ柾がかり、地沸付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は互の目乱れ、刃縁沸が付き砂流しかかり、刃中金筋が働く。釯子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
日州住國正（本名：松葉一路）平成7年以前は景清、平成4年以降は景正と銘を切る。彼は1959年に生まれ、宮崎県日向市に在住しています。11歳で剣道を始め、その後居合や空手も学びました。1983年、刀を依頼したことをきっかけに刀匠の道に進み、斬鉄剣の作者である刀匠・小林康宏氏に入門しました。その後、岡山で兄弟子の安藤広清師の下で修行を続け、1989年に作刀免許を取得。翌年には新作刀展覧会に出展し入選を果たしました。以来、努力賞、優秀賞、特別賞、寒山賞、薫山賞、会長賞など数々の賞を受賞し、無鑑査刀匠の称号を得ました。また令和4年には宮崎県の重要無形文化財に認定されました。
國正は、備前伝の長船長義や末備前の写しで有名です。斬れ味の良い実用的な刀を打つことで知られており、多くの著書も執筆しています。また、師は日本国内のみならず国際的にも高く評価され、武道界の世界的な人物として注目されています。
本作は、特注で作られた、南北朝時代・相州住秋廣の小太刀を写した物です。
Hishū-jū Kunimasa (real name: Ichiro Matsuba) previously signed as Kagekiyo before 1995 (Heisei 7), and as Kagemasa after 1992 (Heisei 4). He was born in 1959 and resides in Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture. He began practicing kendo at the age of 11 and later studied iaido and karate. In 1983, after commissioning a sword, he decided to pursue the path of a swordsmith and became an apprentice to Yoshihiro Kobayashi, the creator of the “Zantetsuken” (Iron-Cutting Sword). He continued his training in Okayama under senior apprentice Hiroki Ando and obtained his swordsmith license in 1989. The following year, he was selected in the New Sword Exhibition and has since received numerous awards including the Effort Award, Excellence Award, Special Award, Kanzan Prize, Kunzan Prize, and President’s Award. He earned the title of Mukansa (exempt from appraisal) swordsmith and was designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Miyazaki Prefecture in 2022 (Reiwa 4).
Kunimasa is renowned for reproductions of the Bizen tradition, particularly the works of Osafune Nagayoshi and the Sue-Bizen style. He is known for forging highly practical swords with excellent cutting performance and has authored several publications. His mastery is recognized not only in Japan but internationally, and he is highly regarded in the martial arts world.
This particular piece is a specially commissioned reproduction of a kodachi by Sōshū-jū Akihiro from the Nanbokuchō period.
