「刀姿 sword figure」
平三角槍、身幅重尋常、大身槍。茎は生で筋違い鑢がかかり、茎尻は一文字
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は柾目肌が流れ、地沸厚く付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は直刃はやや湾れ、刃縁砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋が栄んに働く。
「特徴 detailed」
長次は江戸時代初期の紀州石堂派の刀工で、和歌山城下にて作刀していました。
また「紀州住長次」と銘を切ることもあります。槍を主に作刀しましたが、刀や鍔も手掛けています。
本作は、長さ60.2cmを誇る大身槍で、柾目肌に沸がよく付いた美しい地鉄に、働きのある見事な直刃を焼いた逸品です。
長次による大身槍は、私自身これが初見であり、他にほとんど例がないと考えられる、極めて希少で価値の高い一槍です。
Nagatsugu was a swordsmith of the Kishu Ishidō school in the early Edo period, working in the castle town of Wakayama. He also signed his works “Kishu-ju Nagatsugu.” While he mainly produced yari, he also made swords and tsuba.
This piece is a large ōmi-yari measuring 60.2 cm in length, featuring beautiful masame-hada jigane with well-formed nie and an active, well-executed suguha hamon.
I am seeing a large yari by Nagatsugu for the first time. It is thought that there are very few others in existence, making this an extremely rare and valuable spear.
