「刀姿 sword figure」
菖蒲造り庵棟、身幅凄く太く重尋常、鳥居反りで大峰。茎は生で化粧鑢がかかり、茎尻は刃上がりの栗尻。
Shobu-zukuri with an iori-mune (peaked back). The blade is very wide with standard thickness, featuring torii-style curvature and a large kissaki.
The tang (nakago) is ubu (unaltered) with kesho-yasuri (decorative file marks), and the tang tip is in a ha-agari kuri-jiri (slightly raised rounded chestnut) form.
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は、大板目が流れ柾と成り、地沸厚く付き、所々に地景が現れる。
The jigane (surface steel) shows a flowing o-itame that becomes masame-like, with thick ji-nie and chikei appearing in places.
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は湾れ互の目、刃縁に微塵に沸が付き砂流しかかり、刃中は葉が入り金筋が働く。鋩子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。
The hamon is a notare-gunome (undulating with gunome elements). The habuchi is covered with very fine nie, with sunagashi running along it. Within the hamon, yo (leaf-like activities) are present and kinsuji are actively working.
The bōshi is midare-komi and turns back in a ko-maru (small rounded) form.
「特徴 detailed」
伯州住延秀、銘は大山山麓佐川住延秀作・伯耆国住延秀とも切る、本名は前田秀志、昭和3年8月18日生まれ、鳥取県日野郡江府町佐川在住。師は川島忠善の弟子である父前田喜太郎刀匠（刀匠銘：義輝）。
大山山麓佐川住延秀の刀は切れ味優れることで世界に知られており、特に抜刀の世界では神がかった性能を有する名刀です。 現に真剣を使った武道でギネスの認定を受けられた抜刀道龍星剣宗家、猿田光廣先生曰く「試し斬りしてちゃんと斬れるものが名刀です」の愛刀として有名な御刀です。 猿田氏は、平成10年9月20日、名古屋東海テレビテレピアホールにて千本斬りを1時間36分36秒で見事達成。竹を1本芯にしてそこにゴザ1本分をきつく巻いたもの1000本を1人で斬りました。 途中で刀を替えることなく、1本の斬り損じもなく1人で1000本を連続して斬り納めたことがギネスに認定されました。2000年11月、正式にギネスブックに掲載されます。
またラストサムライに出演した、俳優で武道家のリ－村山先生も延秀を愛刀としており、殺陣と試斬を融合させてた素晴しい演武を国内のみならず海外でも幅広く披露しています。
本作、試斬用に特化して、特注で作られた刀です。身幅が凄く太いですが重は普通の厚さで、平肉も余り付いていなく、畳表を切断専用の造り込みをしています。
しかし地鉄・刃紋とも延秀刀匠の作品の中では最高の出来です。また刀身は研ぎ上げたばかりです。
拵は、柄をリペアしました、鮫革の表面を掃除して牛表革を巻きました。また鞘のコンディションは良好です。
抜身の重量は数字は見ていると思いですが、柄が27.5cm（約9寸）と長く作っていることからバランスが良く、手持ちは軽いです。
是非、試斬用に特化した大業物伯州住延秀の刀で、凄まじい切味を満喫して下さい。
Hakushu-ju Nobuhide, who also signed “Daisen Sanroku Sagawa-jū Nobuhide saku” and “Hōki no Kuni-jū Nobuhide,” was born Maeda Hideshi on August 18, 1928. He resided in Sagawa, Kōfu Town, Hino District, Tottori Prefecture. His teacher was his father, the swordsmith Maeda Kitaro (smith name: Yoshiteru), who was a disciple of Kawashima Tadazane.
Swords by Nobuhide of Sagawa at the foot of Mt. Daisen are renowned worldwide for their exceptional cutting ability, and are especially regarded in the world of battō (test cutting) as blades of almost legendary performance. In fact, Mr. Mitsuhiro Saruta, headmaster of Ryūsei-ken Battodo—recognized by Guinness World Records in martial arts using live blades—famously stated, “A true masterpiece is a sword that can actually cut properly,” and counted Nobuhide’s blade among his favorites. On September 20, 1998, at the Telepia Hall of Tokai TV in Nagoya, he successfully completed a thousand-cut challenge in 1 hour, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds, cutting 1,000 targets made of tightly rolled tatami mats with a bamboo core. Without changing swords and without a single failed cut, he achieved this feat alone, earning recognition in the Guinness Book of Records in November 2000.
Additionally, Mr. Lee Murayama, an actor and martial artist who appeared in The Last Samurai, also favored Nobuhide swords, demonstrating outstanding performances that combine sword choreography and test cutting, both in Japan and internationally.
This sword was specially custom-made with a focus on test cutting. Although the blade is extremely wide, its thickness is standard, with relatively little hira-niku, making it specifically designed for cutting tatami targets.
Despite its specialization, both the jigane and hamon represent some of the finest workmanship among Nobuhide’s works. The blade has also just been freshly polished.
Regarding the koshirae, the tsuka has been repaired: the samegawa has been cleaned and rewrapped with black leather. The saya is in good condition.
Although the bare blade weight may seem notable, the tsuka is made long (27.5 cm / approx. 9 sun), resulting in excellent balance and a light, responsive feel in hand.

｢拵 Koshirae｣
拵は、柄をリペアしました、鮫革の表面を掃除して牛表革を巻きました。また鞘のコンディションは良好です。
縁頭と目貫は一作金具です。白鞘とつなぎが付属します、つなぎは白鞘に入る高級な物です。
ハバキ(habaki) ：素銅地二重の金鍍金。
鍔(tsuba) ：ステンレス地菊花透かし。
縁頭(futikasira)：真鍮石目地剣片喰家紋の図。
目貫(menuki) ：真鍮石目地剣片喰家紋の図。
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き巻鮫。柄糸は牛表革黒の諸捻り巻。
鐺(kojiri) : 鉄地錨形鐺
鞘(saya) : 焦げ茶乾漆石目。
