「刀姿 sword figure」
鎬造り庵棟、身幅細く重ね薄く、鳥居反り中鋒。茎は生で磨り目は筋違い、茎尻は栗尻。
Shinogi-zukuri with an iori-mune; the mihaba is narrow and the kasane is thin, with torii-zori and a chu-kissaki.
The nakago is ubu, with sujikai yasurime, and the nakago-jiri is kurijiri.
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄板目肌が流れ柾と成り、地景働き地沸付く。
The jigane shows flowing itame-hada tending toward masame, with active chikei and well-formed ji-nie.
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は沸出来の直刃、刃縁沸付き砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋・稲妻が働く。釯子は刃紋成りに入り、小丸に返る。
The hamon is a suguha in nie-deki, with nie along the habuchi and sunagashi appearing. Within the ha, kinsuji and inazuma are active. The bōshi follows the hamon and turns back in a small maru.
「特徴 detailed」
明寿（本名：大野雄一）は明治44年（1911年）生まれで、戦時中は陸軍受命刀工として活躍しました。戦後はクラフトナイフの作者として名を知られる一方、作刀も続けていました。
本刀は、大正時代の日本海軍尉官用サーベル型軍刀拵に合わせて作られたものです。地鉄には素晴らしい地景が現れ、沸出来の直刃は刃中の働きが豊かで、非常に優れた出来を示しています。
拵のコンディションも良く、刀身と拵が見事に調和した、優れた軍刀です。
Akitoshi, whose real name was Ono Yuichi, was born in 1911 (Meiji 44). During the war, he was active as an Army-appointed swordsmith (Rikugun Jumei Tosho). After the war, he became well known as a maker of craft knives while continuing to forge swords. This sword was made to fit a Taishō-period Japanese Navy junior officer–style saber-type guntō koshirae. The jigane displays superb chikei, and the nie-deki suguha hamon shows rich internal activity, representing an outstanding level of workmanship.
The koshirae is also in good condition, making this gunto an excellent combination of blade and mounting.

日本海軍尉官用サーベル型軍刀拵。
柄の鮫革を研ぎ出した上質な拵で、尉官・左官用の刀緒がついています。
Japanese Navy junior officer–style saber-type gunto koshirae.
This is a high-quality koshirae with polished samegawa on the tsuka, fitted with a tassel for commissioned officers and warrant officers.
ハバキ(habaki) ：素銅地金色絵の縦鑢。
