「刀姿 sword figure」
鎬造り庵棟、身幅重尋常、鳥居反り中鋒。茎は生で鷹の羽鑢がかかり、茎尻は刃上がりの栗尻。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌が流れ地景頻りに入り、地沸付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は互の目、尖り刃を交え・足入り、刃中金筋・稲妻が働く。釯子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
関孫六。関の兼元は室町時代中期の赤坂千手院國長を祖とする。二代の孫六兼元大業物として有名で、直系の子孫が二十七代まで続きました。
本作は二十七代兼元の父二十六代兼元の作品です。本名は金子信一郎、昭和15年に没しているので、大正から昭和にかけての作品だと思います。
二十六代兼元の作と思われる作品は初めて見ました。特に関孫六と切った銘も初めてです。
本作、二十七代兼元と違い派手な三本杉を焼かず、地景が頻りに入った地鉄に働きの有る互の目を焼いた、素晴らしい作品です。
刀身は古研ぎのため、多少ヒケが有りますが地刃は良く見えます。
この珍しく貴重な、二十六代孫六兼元の刀を是非、手に入れて下さい。
Seki Magoroku Kanemoto (Magoroku of Seki) traces its prestigious lineage back to Akasaka Senjuin Kunitada in the mid-Muromachi period. The second-generation Magoroku Kanemoto became renowned as an Owazamono, and the direct line continued through twenty-seven generations.
This particular sword is the work of the 26th-generation Kanemoto, the father of the 27th generation. His real name was Shinichiro Kaneko, who passed away in 1940 (Showa 15), indicating that this piece was forged during the Taisho to early Showa era.
This is the first sword attributed to the 26th-generation Kanemoto that I’ve encountered—and notably, it even bears the “Seki Magoroku” signature.
Unlike his son, the 27th-generation Kanemoto’s flamboyant “sambonsugi” (three-cedar) hamon, this example features a well-dense jigane decorated with visible chikei and an active gunome hamon—truly a magnificent piece.
The blade is polished with an older finish, showing minor scuffing (hike), but the steel grain and temper line remain clearly visible.
This rare and valuable sword by the 26th-generation Seki Magoroku Kanemoto is an exceptional find and a must-have for serious sword collectors.
「拵 Koshirae」
ハバキ(habaki) ：素銅地金着一重の腰祐乗。
鍔(tsuba) ：鉄地雁金透かし鍔。
縁頭(futikasira)：縁は赤銅魚子地武者の図、頭は赤銅魚子地犬に菊。
目貫(menuki) ：赤銅地武者の図
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き巻鮫。柄巻は正絹納戸色の諸撮み巻。
鞘(saya) ：黒呂。
