「刀姿 sword figure」
鎬造り庵棟、身幅やや太く重尋常、中間反り中鋒。茎は生で鑢目は筋違い、茎尻は栗尻。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は、板目肌が刃緑付近から流れ柾と成り地沸良付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃文は湾れ互の目、刃縁細かな沸が付き、蟹の爪刃を交え、刃中葉を見せ、金筋が働く。帽子は乱れこみ小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
赤松太郎光宏（現在は「兼光」と銘を切る）は、熊本県八代市に在住する刀匠です。
本名は木村光宏で、刀匠・木村兼定（兼嗣）の長男です。兼光刀匠は新作刀展で数々の特賞を受賞しており、令和3年には太刀・刀・脇指・薙刀・槍の部で薫山賞を受賞。令和7年には、太刀・刀・脇指・薙刀・槍の部で高松宮賞、短刀の部で薫山賞をダブル受賞しました。
光宏刀匠は温厚で誠実な人柄として知られ、その性格は彼の作る刀にも表れています。現在、次期無鑑査刀匠に最も近い有望な刀匠とされています。
本作は試斬用に作られたものと思われますが、居合や試斬では未使用で、刀身・拵ともにコンディションは良好です。
鑑賞用としても、試斬用としても非常に優れた一振りです。
Akamatsu Taro Mitsuhiro, who now signs his work as Kanemitsu, is a swordsmith residing in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture. His real name is Kimura Mitsuhiro, and he is the eldest son of the swordsmith Kimura Kanesada (Kanesugi). Kanemitsu has won numerous top awards at the New Sword Exhibition. In 2021 (Reiwa 3), he received the Kunzan Prize in the categories of tachi, katana, wakizashi, naginata, and yari. In the current year (Reiwa 7), he achieved a double win: the Takamatsunomiya Award for tachi, katana, wakizashi, naginata, and yari, and the Kunzan Prize for tanto.
Mitsuhiro is known for his gentle and sincere personality, and this character is reflected in the swords he creates. He is currently regarded as one of the most promising candidates to become a mukansa swordsmith.
This piece appears to have been made for tameshigiri, but it has not been used for either Iaido or test cutting. Both the blade and the koshirae are in good condition.
It is an excellent sword, suitable both for appreciation and for test cutting.

鞘の小さな凹みが有りますが、その他は良好です。
ハバキ(habaki) ：銀無垢一重の腰祐乗。
鍔(tsuba) ：鉄地木瓜形梅図。
縁頭(futikasira)：銀無垢波の図。
目貫(menuki) ：馬の図。
柄(tsuka) ：柄巻は正絹黒の諸捻り巻。
鞘(saya) ：黒呂。
