「刀姿 swors figure」
体配は鎬造り庵棟、身幅重尋常、鳥居反り、中鋒。茎は生で筋違い鑢がかかり、茎尻は栗尻と成る。
「彫物 carving」
彫り物は片チリの棒樋が鎺で角留と成り、添え樋が貼られる。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌に小板目が交じり、地沸付く
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は互の乱れで、刃緑微塵に沸が付き砂流しかかり、銀筋が流れる、刃中は刃中は金筋が入る。釯子は乱れ込みは掃き掻け小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
甲斐國重光（本名：伊藤重光）は、1953年（昭和28年）11月5日生まれで、山梨県甲府市に在住。故・宮入昭平（行平）氏と榎本貞吉氏に師事し、1980年（昭和55年）に独立しました。大相撲の横綱・稀勢の里の土俵入りで使用された太刀を鍛えたことでも知られています。
1980年（昭和55年）に新作名刀展に初出品し、2012年（平成24年）には努力賞を受賞、さらに2013年（平成25年）と2014年（平成26年）には入選を果たすなど、その卓越した技量を示しています。
本作は特注で製作されたものと思われ、依頼主がかなりの費用をかけたことが伺えます。刀身には、鎺元で角留めされた樋が入り、それに添樋が施されています。鎺は素銅地金着の二重構造、切羽も素銅地金着となっています。
さらに、鍔や縁頭は重光刀匠自身が手掛けたものであり、その高い技術力が見て取れる作品です。
刀身だけでなく、金具類まで重光刀匠が手掛けた作品は非常に珍しく、大変貴重な一振りと言えるでしょう。
Kai no Kuni Shigemitsu, whose real name is Shigemitsu Ito, was born on November 5, 1953 (Showa 28) and resides in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. He trained under the late Miyairi Akihira (Yukihira) and Enomoto Sadakichi. In 1980 (Showa 55), he became independent. Notably, he forged the ceremonial tachi used in the ring-entering ceremony of sumo grand champion (Yokozuna) Kisenosato.
He first exhibited at the Shinsaku Katana Meitoten (New Masterpiece Sword Exhibition) in 1980, and later received the Effort Award in 2012 (Heisei 24) and was selected in both 2013 and 2014 (Heisei 25 and 26), demonstrating his skill as a master swordsmith.
This particular sword appears to be a custom-made piece. The client seemingly invested significantly in its creation. The blade features a bohi (groove) with kaku-dome (square termination) at the habaki-moto, accompanied by a soe-bi (secondary groove). The habaki is a double-layered suaka (solid copper with gold finish), and the seppa is also made of suaka.
Additionally, both the tsuba and the fuchi-kashira were handcrafted by Shigemitsu himself, showcasing his exceptional skill.
It is extremely rare to find a piece where Shigemitsu not only forged the blade but also crafted the fittings, making this a highly valuable and exceptional sword.

金具類は俵鼠で統一されており、さらに鍔と縁頭は重光刀匠の作品です。
ハバキ(habaki) ：素銅地金着二重。
鍔(tsuba) ：鉄地俵鼠の図（甲斐国住重光の銘が有ります）。
縁頭(futikasira)：鉄地俵鼠の図（甲斐国住重光の銘が有ります）。
目貫(menuki) ：赤銅地俵鼠の図。
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き巻鮫。柄糸は正絹鉄紺色の諸捻り巻き。
鞘(saya) ：黒呂。
｢刀剣の状態 condition of blade｣
研：古研ぎのため曇っており、少しヒケが有りますが、拭い直せば素晴らしい地刃が復活します。
傷：欠点に成るような傷は有りません。
