平造り庵棟、身幅重尋常、無反りふくら程良く枯れる。茎は生で化粧鑢がかかる。
「彫物 carving」
彫物は差表に素剣、差裏には縄鏢が彫られる。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌が詰み、地沸厚く付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は互の目乱れ、匂口明るく刃縁細かな沸が付き、砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋が入る。釯子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
龍神太郎源貞茂（本名：安達茂文）は、昭和33年（1958年）、温泉で知られる和歌山県日高郡龍神村（現在の田辺市龍神村）に生まれました。
父は刀匠・龍神太郎貞行、叔父は刀匠・安達貞文、従兄弟は刀匠・貞和です。
貞茂刀匠は15歳で父・貞行刀匠に入門し、22歳の時に人間国宝・月山貞一刀匠に師事しました。その後約3年間、他の門弟たちとともに師匠の鍛錬場に住み込みで修業を積みました。この期間中、河野貞光刀匠と1年間同室で生活し、貞光刀匠が福岡に戻るまでの間、作刀の指導も受けています。
貞茂刀匠は、特に彫物の技量において高く評価されており、月山門下随一と称されています。故・河野貞光刀匠の話によれば、安達君の彫は入門当初から教えることがほとんどないほど完成度が高かったとのことです。
本作は、良く詰んだ板目肌に相州伝の刃文を焼き、さらに金剛杵（こんごうしょ）と縄鏢（じょうひょう）の彫物を施した、素晴らしい短刀です。
お守り刀として、これ以上ないほど最適で優れた一振りです。
Ryujin Tarō Minamoto Sadashige, whose real name is Adachi Shigefumi, was born in 1958 (Shōwa 33) in Ryujin Village, Hidaka District—an area famous for its hot springs and now part of Tanabe City, Ryujin.
His father was the swordsmith Ryujin Tarō Sadayuki; his uncle was the swordsmith Adachi Sadafumi; and his cousin is the swordsmith Sadakazu.
Sadashige began his apprenticeship under his father Sadayuki at the age of 15. At 22, he became a disciple of Living National Treasure Gassan Sadakazu I, training for approximately three years while living at his master’s forge together with other students. During that time, he shared a room for one year with the swordsmith Kawano Sadamitsu and also received forging instruction from Sadamitsu until he returned to Fukuoka.
Sadashige is especially renowned for his horimono carving skills, which are regarded as the finest among the Gassan school. According to the late Kawano Sadamitsu, Adachi’s carving was so accomplished from the very beginning of his apprenticeship that there was virtually nothing to teach him.
This superb tantō features a finely forged, tightly grained itame-hada with a Sōshū-style hamon, and is beautifully carved with horimono of a kongōsho (vajra) and a jōhyō (rope dart).
As an omamori-gatana (protective talisman blade), it is an outstanding and exceptionally ideal piece.

金着一重の鎺は金の高騰に伴い、今作ると12万円～15万円くらいします。
ハバキ(habaki) ：素銅地金着一重の大坂鎺。
鞘(saya) ：白鞘。
