「刀姿 sword figure」
平造り庵棟、身幅重尋常、鳥居反りふくら張る。茎は生で化粧鑢がかかり、茎尻は栗尻。
「彫物 carving」
彫物は、差表に素剣、差裏には護摩箸と大日如来の梵字が彫られる。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌に小板目が交じり流れ心と成り、地沸付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃文は互の目乱れ、刃緑沸がよく付き砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋が働く。釯子は乱れ込み小丸に少し返る。
「特徴 detailed」
貞重は、本名を今井清見。大正12年3月25日、愛媛県西条市生まれ。初期は清重、他に蚊竜子平貞重と銘を切る。
はじめ人間国宝 高橋貞次に入門し、後に総裁名誉賞、最高文部大臣賞など多数の受賞暦があり日本刀学院名誉鍛錬師範でもあった父（徹心入道平貞重）に学ぶ。戦時中は陸軍受命刀匠を拝命、戦後の新作刀展では昭和41年から44年まで連続して入選、昭和50年には西条市の無形文化財と成る。
本作、現代刀の脇差では珍しく平造りです。品の良い彫物が彫られ、拵も素晴らしく、コレクションに最適です。
Sadashige, whose real name was Kiyomi Imai, was born on March 25, 1923 (Taisho 12) in Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture. In his early years, he used the name Kiyoshige and also signed as Kayushi Taira Sadaju.
He first apprenticed under the Living National Treasure Takahashi Sadatsugu, and later studied under his father, Tesshin Nyudo Taira Sadaju, who was an honorary master instructor at the Nihonto Gakuin and had received many prestigious awards such as the Honorary President’s Award and the Minister of Education Award. During the war, he was appointed as a swordsmith for the Imperial Japanese Army. In the postwar New Sword Exhibitions, he was selected every year from 1966 to 1969. In 1975, he was designated an Intangible Cultural Property of Saijo City.
This particular work is a hira-zukuri wakizashi, which is rare among modern swords. It features elegantly carved horimono (engravings), and the koshirae (mounting) is also exceptional, making it a perfect addition to any collection.
｢拵 Koshirae｣
拵は、上質の古い金具を使い作られています。またコンディションは良好です。
ハバキ(habaki) ：銀無垢一重の腰祐乗。
鍔(tsuba) ：赤銅地五月雨鑢。
縁頭(futikasira)：縁は赤銅金着龍の図（銘：吉岡照次 花押）、頭は水牛の角。
目貫(menuki) ：金無垢獅子の図。
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き巻鮫。柄糸は正絹納戸色の諸撮み巻き。
小柄(kozuka)：袋は赤銅魚子地海龍の図。
鞘(saya) ：黒艶色の千段刻み。

研：少し小さな薄錆が有りますが、その他は良好です。
傷：欠点に成るような傷は有りません。
