「刀姿 sword figure」
鎬造り庵棟、身幅太く重尋常、鳥居反り、小鋒。茎は生で化粧鑢がかかる、茎尻は栗尻。
「地鉄 jigane」
小板目肌に杢目が交じりよく詰み、地沸微塵に付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は互の目が湾れ、うちのけ、金筋、稲妻を見せる。帽子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
相模國剣白靖俊、本名小野潔、昭和23年横浜生まれ、靖国刀匠の増田靖要師の門下。現在は相模原市にて剣白靖俊日本刀鍛錬会を主催し切れ味を重視した日本刀を作られています。
本作は、試斬用に作られた脇差で、身幅が広く刃肉が薄く抜けが良い造りこみとなっています。
拵は江戸時代の上質の縁頭・鍔・目貫を使って製作したもので、素晴らしい出来栄えです。
刀身・拵とも未使用ですが、柄巻の表側が退色しています。多分ショーケースに長期間飾っていたため、紫外線に良り柄糸が退色したのでしょう。
柄巻は+10,000円で新品に巻替えます。

Sagami-no-Kuni Kenhaku Yasutoshi, whose real name is Kiyoshi Ono, was born in Yokohama in 1948 (Showa 23). He studied under Masuda Yasukane, one of the Yasukuni swordsmiths. He now resides in Sagamihara City, where he leads the Kenhaku Yasutoshi Japanese Sword Forging Association, producing swords with a focus on cutting performance.
This piece is a wakizashi forged specifically for tameshigiri (test cutting). It features a wide body, thin ha-niku, and a construction that provides excellent handling and cutting ability.
The koshirae was made using high-quality Edo-period fittings, including fuchi-kashira, tsuba, and menuki, resulting in a superb mounting.
Both the blade and the mounting remain unused; however, the omote side of the tsuka-maki has faded, likely due to long-term display in a showcase where ultraviolet light discolored the ito. The tsuka-maki can be rewrapped with new ito for an additional 10,000 yen.
This is the first wakizashi for test cutting by swordsmith Kenhaku Yasutoshi that I have encountered. Do not miss this rare opportunity.

ハバキ(habaki) ：銀無垢一重の腰祐乗。
鍔(tsuba) ：素銅地長丸形武蔵野図。
縁頭(futikasira)：赤銅魚子地武者の図。
目貫(menuki) ：赤銅地太刀の図。
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き巻鮫、柄巻は正絹納戸色の諸撮み巻。
鞘(saya) ：乾漆石目濃緑色。
