「刀姿 sword figure」
鎬造り庵棟、身幅やや太く重尋常、鳥居反り大鋒。茎は生で切鑢がかかり、茎尻は栗尻。「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌に小板目が交じり流れ心と成り、地沸付く。「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は互の目、尖り刃を交え、刃縁砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋・葉が入る。釯子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。「特徴 detailed」
東肥士正寧、幕末の肥後熊本藩細川家の家臣、本名は安井正寧。銘は「肥後安井正寧」とも切る。
本作、二尺四寸七分も有る長い刀ですが、破綻は無く、素晴らしい尖り互の目を焼いています。
拵はコンディションが良く、鑑賞のみならず、長身のかたの居合にも使えます。
Tohishi Masayasu was a retainer of the Hosokawa clan of the Higo Kumamoto domain in the late Edo period. His real name was Yasui Masayasu, and he sometimes signed his works as “Higo Yasui Masayasu.”
This piece is a long sword measuring 2 shaku 4 sun 7 bu (approximately 75 cm), yet it shows no flaws and features a magnificent togari-gunome (pointed gunome) hamon.
The koshirae is in excellent condition, making it suitable not only for appreciation but also for Iaido practice, especially for taller practitioners.｢拵 Koshirae｣
打刀拵、白鞘、つなぎ。
ハバキ(habaki) ：銀無垢二重。
鍔(tsuba) ：鉄地木瓜形秋虫の図金象嵌。
縁頭(futikasira)：鉄地肥後竹の図銀象嵌。
目貫(menuki) ：赤銅地鳳凰の図。
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き黒染。柄巻は正絹焦茶色の諸撮み巻。
鞘(saya) ：黒呂。｢刀剣の状態 condition of blade｣
研：古研ぎですが、状態は良い方です。
傷：欠点に成るような傷は有りません。
