「刀姿 sword figure」
体配は鎬造り庵棟、身幅太く重厚く、鳥居反り大鋒。茎は生で筋違い鑢がかかり、茎尻は栗尻となる。
「彫物 carving」
彫り物は、表に草の俱利伽羅、裏には護摩箸が彫られる。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌が刃縁の辺りで流れ柾となる、良く練れて良く積んだ黒味のある地鉄に、地沸良く付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は華やかな丁子刃で足が良く入り、刃中金筋栄んに働く。帽子は乱れこみ小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
肥後国住赤松太郎兼裕、本名は木村馨、昭和36年2月生、熊本県八代市在住、父は木村兼重で、兼嗣、兼照刀匠は兄です。新作刀展での入選多数の実力派の刀匠です。
赤松太郎は、兼嗣を筆頭として兼裕、兼照、その他の門人を育成している。全ての刀工は赤松太郎と銘を付け清麿写しには定評がある。
自家製鉄により玉鋼を制作して作刀を行う為、現在流通している日刀保の玉鋼とはやや趣きが異なります。
本作は有名な清磨写しです、横手筋から鋒まで106mmある豪壮な刀姿に、清麿その物と言っても過言では無い、金筋が栄んに働いた丁子刃を焼いた優れた作品です。研ぎも高価な差込研ぎがかかっています。赤松太郎の清磨写しでも、この作品ほど大鋒で、刃中の働きが抜群な物は無く、大変貴重な一振りです。
Higo no kuni ju Akamatsu Taro Kanehiro, whose real name is Kaoru Kimura, was born in February 1961 (Showa 36) and resides in Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture. His father was Kimura Kaneju, and his brothers are swordsmiths Kaneji and Kaneteru. He is a highly skilled swordsmith with numerous selections in the New Sword Exhibition.
Under the Akamatsu Tarō lineage, Kaneji led the training of Kaneyasu, Kaneteru, and other disciples. All swordsmiths in this lineage carry the Akamatsu Tarō name, and their reproductions of Kiyomaro are highly regarded.
Because they smelt their own tamahagane (Japanese sword steel), the material differs somewhat from the tamahagane distributed by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK) today.
This sword is a famous Kiyomaro-style reproduction. The blade has an impressive appearance with a yokote-suji to kissaki length of 106 mm, embodying Kiyomaro himself. It features a superb chōji hamon with vivid kinsuji activities. It is polished with a high-end sashikomi finish. Even among Akamatsu Tarō’s Kiyomaro-style swords, none boast such a large kissaki and outstanding hataraki (activity within the blade), making this a very rare and valuable piece.
