体配は鎬造り庵棟、身幅重尋常、鳥居反り中鋒が伸び心となる。茎は生で化粧鑢がかかり、茎尻は一文字。「彫物 carving」
彫物は表裏に、片チリの棒樋が鎺下で丸留と成る。「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌が流れ柾目かかり、地沸付く。「刃紋 hamon」
刃紋は重花丁子刃、刃緑に沸が付き砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋が栄んに入る。帽子は乱れ込み小丸に返る。「特徴 detailed」
二十四代兼房（本名：加藤孝雄）は、岐阜県関市の著名な刀匠です。彼は父である二十三代藤原兼房に師事し、関を代表する刀匠の一人として活躍しました。新作名刀展では、薫山賞、優秀賞、努力賞など数々の賞を受賞する実力者です。現在、彼の息子である二十五代兼房（加藤賀津雄）が活躍しており、さらに孫の二十六代兼房（加藤正文実）が家業を継いでいます。
本作は、鎌倉時代後期の鎌倉一文字助真の太刀を写した作品で、磨り上げられた姿を忠実に再現しています。オリジナルの刀には目釘穴が5つあったと考えられ、それを再現するために、表側に3つのダミーの目釘穴を表現しています（実際には穴は開いていません）。
地鉄は板目肌が流れ、柾目がかる特徴的な鍛えで、刃文は沸出来の重花丁子刃（じゅうかちょうじば）に砂流しがかかり、金筋が盛んに働くなど、非常に見事な仕上がりとなっています。
The 24th-generation Kanefusa, whose real name is Takao Kato, is a renowned swordsmith from Seki City, Gifu Prefecture. He trained under his father, the 23rd-generation Fujiwara Kanefusa. A highly skilled representative of the Seki swordsmithing tradition, he has received numerous awards at the New Sword Exhibition, including the Kunzan Award, Excellence Award, and Effort Award. His son, the 25th-generation Kanefusa (Katsuo Kato), is currently an active swordsmith, and his grandson, the 26th-generation Kanefusa (Masafumi Kato), continues the family legacy.
This piece is a reproduction of a tachi by Kamakura Ichimonji Sukezane from the late Kamakura period, faithfully recreating the elegant form of a suriage (shortened) blade. The original sword likely had five mekugi-ana (peg holes), and to replicate this detail, three dummy mekugi-ana are represented on the omote side (without actual holes).
The blade features itame-hada (wood grain pattern) with a flowing masame (straight-grain) tendency, while the hamon consists of a vibrant, nie-rich juka-choji (double clove pattern) with sunagashi (sweeping streaks) and prominent kinsuji (golden streaks), making this a truly outstanding work.｢拵 Koshirae｣
