Izu-ju Sadahito (Enomoto Sadahito), whose real name is Enomoto Eishichiro, is a swordsmith residing in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture. He studied under his father, the swordsmith Enomoto Sadayoshi, and his elder brother is the swordsmith Tatsuyohi.
His father, Enomoto Sadayoshi, was a distinguished disciple of Gassan Sadakatsu and was known as “Sadayoshi of superior forging.” Sadahito has inherited the forging techniques and hamon styles of the Gassan school, and his ayasugi-hada is particularly outstanding. His hamon also clearly reflects the Soshu tradition favored by the Gassan lineage.
He has received numerous awards at the annual Shinsaku Meito Exhibition and continues to forge swords actively, being the only swordsmith currently working in the Izu region.
This piece is modeled after Soshu Sadamune, a top disciple of Masamune, and both the jigane and hamon are of excellent quality. The blade has just been freshly polished and shows no flaws that would detract from its integrity.
Regarding the koshirae, the saya is newly made, and the tsuka has been repaired. The samegawa has been replaced, and the fuchi-kashira, menuki, tsuba, and seppa are all newly fitted. The tsuka is rewrapped in black leather, and the sageo is also new.
Both the blade and koshirae are in near-new condition, making this a rare and highly desirable piece. Please do not miss this opportunity.
