「刀姿 sword figure」
鎬造り庵棟、身幅太く重尋常、鳥居反り中鋒。茎は生で化粧鑢がかかる、茎尻は栗尻。
「彫り物 carving」
彫物は片チリの棒樋が鎺下に掻き流しとなる。
「地鉄 jigane」
地鉄は板目肌に小板目が交じり、地沸が付く。
「刃紋 hamon」
波紋は互の目、刃縁砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋が入る。釯子は乱れこみ小丸に返る。
「特徴 detailed」
土州住蒼龍子貞行（どしゅうじゅう・そうりゅうし・さだゆき）は、本名を山村融（やまむら とおる）といい、明治42年（1909年）に高知県南国市で生まれた現代刀工です。名工・川島忠善の門人であった山村善貞に師事し、その指導のもとで刀鍛冶としての技術を磨きました。
貞行の作風は、郷土土佐の名工「左行秀」の技術に強く影響を受けています。特に、非常によく詰んだ地鉄に、匂口を深く表し、沸を交えた美しい刃文を特徴とし、美観と実用性を兼ね備えた作品を生み出しました。その技量は高く評価され、新作名刀展では数多くの受賞歴を誇ります。
また、刀工としてだけでなく金工師としても優れた才能を発揮し、刀身の彫刻に加え、縁頭・鍔・目貫などの刀装具も手がけました。刀そのものだけでなく拵全体の美しさを追求し、総合的な完成度の高さにおいても高い評価を受けています。
本作は、豪壮で迫力のある姿に、よく詰んだ地鉄と美しく焼かれた互の目刃文を備えています。
刀身は古研ぎのためやや曇りがありますが、地刃は十分に鑑賞でき、鍛え割れなど欠点となる傷はありません。拵は鞘・柄ともに素晴らしく、柄は牛表革による片手巻が施されています。
重量はややありますがバランスが良く、居合や試斬に最適な一振りです。
Doshu-ju Soryushi Sadayuki (蒼龍子貞行), whose real name was Tōru Yamamura, was a modern swordsmith born in 1909 (Meiji 42) in Nankoku City, Kōchi Prefecture. He studied under Yamamura Yoshisada, a disciple of the renowned master Kawashima Tadayoshi, and refined his skills as a swordsmith under his guidance.
Sadayuki’s style was strongly influenced by the techniques of the famous Tosa master swordsmith Sayuki Hide. His works are especially characterized by a finely compacted jigane (extremely dense and refined steel texture), a deeply defined nioiguchi (the boundary between the hamon and the ji), and beautiful hamon containing nie—crystalline martensite—resulting in blades that combine both aesthetic beauty and practical performance. His craftsmanship was highly regarded, and he received numerous awards at the New Sword Exhibition.
In addition to being a swordsmith, he was also an accomplished metal craftsman. He produced not only horimono carvings on blades, but also sword fittings such as fuchi-gashira, tsuba, and menuki. Through this, he pursued beauty not only in the blade itself but also in the mountings, earning high praise for achieving harmony between overall aesthetic refinement and functionality.
This piece features a powerful and imposing form, finely forged jigane, and a beautifully executed gunome hamon.
The blade is somewhat cloudy due to an old polish, but the ji and ha are still clearly visible, and there are no forging flaws such as kitae-ware. The koshirae is excellent, with a saya and a tsuka wrapped in fine cowhide leather in a katate-maki (single-hand wrap) style.
Although the sword is slightly heavy, it is well balanced and ideal for Iaido and test cutting.

ハバキ(habaki) ：銀無垢二重。
鍔(tsuba) ：鉄地松に鷹。
縁頭(fhchikashira)：鉄地肥後（江戸時代の物。
目貫(menuki) ：赤銅地茸の図。
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き巻鮫。柄巻は牛表革の片手巻。
鞘(saya) ：一枚鮫研ぎ出し鞘。

研：古研ぎのため曇っていますが、地刃は見えます。
傷：欠点に成るような傷は有りません。
