「刀姿 sword figure」
鎬造り庵棟、身幅細く重尋常、鳥居反り大鋒。茎は磨り揚げられ筋違い鑢がかかり、茎尻は一文字に切られる。
「彫り物」
彫物は片チリの棒樋が鎺下で丸留。
「地鉄」
地鉄は板目肌が流れ柾目と成り、地黒く映りが立つ。
「刃紋」
刃紋は小沸出来の中直刃が湾れ、刃縁砂流しかかり、刃中は金筋が働く。釯子は乱れ込み少し返る。
「特徴」
南北朝時代の大磨り揚げ無銘の刀です。地鉄が黒いので越前や加賀方面で作られたものでしょう。
元々は2尺5寸～6寸くらいの長大な太刀で、後の時代に打刀に仕立て直された物です。
鍛え割れ等の傷は無いですが、差裏の横手筋手前の地に、錆の深い所が有ったと思われ、研磨後に傷と成って残っていますが、他に欠点は無く、地鉄や刃の働きなど素晴らしいです。鑑定に出すのも良いでしょう。
拵は鞘が新品で、柄は最近作られた物で、しっかりしています。
大磨り揚げのため茎が長くバランス良く、重量も軽いので、居合にも最適です。
This is an unsigned (mumei) sword from the Nanbokuchō period that has been greatly shortened (ō-suriage). The dark color of the jigane (steel surface) suggests it was likely made in the Echizen or Kaga regions.
Originally, it was a long tachi measuring about 2 shaku 5 sun to 6 sun (approximately 75–78 cm), but it was later remounted as a uchigatana in a subsequent period.
There are no major flaws such as forging cracks (kitae-wari), but there appears to have been a deeply rusted area near the yokote-suji on the back side of the blade (sashi-ura), which left a visible mark after polishing. However, aside from that, there are no other issues, and the jigane and hamon are both excellent. It would be well worth submitting for appraisal.
The koshirae (mounting) features a newly made saya (scabbard), and the tsuka (handle) was also recently crafted and is firmly constructed.
Due to the ō-suriage, the nakago (tang) is long, giving the sword good balance and a relatively light weight, making it ideal for iaido practice as well.

鞘が新品で、柄は最近作られた物で、しっかりしています。
ハバキ(habaki) ：素銅地金色絵の腰祐乗。
鍔(tsuba) ：鉄地木瓜形松樹図透かし。
縁頭(futikasira)：縁は素銅地色揚の五月雨鑢、頭は水牛の角。
目貫(menuki) ：鉄地兜の図。
柄(tsuka) ：鮫は親粒が付き巻鮫、柄巻きは正絹納戸色の諸撮み巻き。
鞘(saya) ：黒呂（新品）。

研：概ね良好です。
傷：差裏の横手筋手前の地に、錆の深かった所が研磨後に傷と成って残っていますが、他に欠点になるような傷は有りません。
